We are close to the village of Stanley where you can spend the day visiting the historic town and its small shops or trying to catch some squid or fish (we have fishing rods available for you to use). Or you can take a hike at the Trowutta Arch (one of our favourite walks), which is stunning! And of course there is the must do Tarkine Loop and head to the Edge of the World at the Arthur River, hike the Milkshakes or visit the marvelous Julius River (our Sydneysider guests that have visited twice, have said to us ‘You must tell all your guests, to visit Julius River, we have never seen anything like it in our lives!). It is also a home that is family friendly with lots of space for children to play. Irbys has four bedrooms, one large bathroom with heat lamps, a claw bath and shower and two separate toilets. There is one room that has bunk beds. In this room there is an array of items that can be used by children and bigger kids. The bathroom has a claw bath that you can fill with bubbles using rainwater (and a 95 year old claw bath outside too) surrounded by beautiful perfumed candles and in winter we have the wood fire going for you on your arrival to enjoy! The kitchen has a marble butchers block and all the cooking essentials that you need. The combustion stove in the farmer’s kitchen is marvelous to cook on and sends out a beautiful heat too. French doors open from the dining room onto a deck where you can enjoy a glass of Tasmanian bubbles while enjoying the Irbys Country View. There is a washing machine, dryer, clothes hanger, iron and ironing board available for you to use. Guests also have access to all the lawn area around the home. As it is a working beef farm we do ask all guests not to move past the lawn area around the home unless you are with us. We love our country life and the quietness and relaxation it brings when we are not working on the farm. We love to meet people and learn about where they are from, their culture and what they do in their daily lives. Over 75% of our guests are returning friends (our very first guests from Victoria, come back every second month!) and we love to keep in touch with as many of our guests as possible, many have become life long friends.
